gösting ruins

gösting castle was built at the end of the 11th century to protect the traffic route and the bridge over the mur river. in 1723, an explosion caused by a lightning strike destroyed a large part of the castle. from the still-standing keep, there is a wide view over the graz basin and the east styrian hill country. as a nearby excursion destination, the gösting ruins and adjacent hiking trails are suitable for young and old.
