the border in a city. slovenian, venetian, austrian, italian - all at once and none of it completely. a port that carries europe within it. the old town is small but not sweet - it is pragmatic, functional, a place where history doesn't celebrate itself but simply is everyday. koper is the last handful before the mainland. the light changes here, the language, the architecture. an interface where the mediterranean and the alps meet. not touristic, but alive.
