visible from afar, the over 850-year-old riegersburg rises on the rocks of a volcanic mountain. the ascent to the castle becomes an experience in itself. 3km of defensive walls with embrasures, 7 gate buildings and 11 bastions still hint at the eventful past today. since 1822, the castle has been the private property of the princely liechtenstein family.
