schlossberg

the graz schlossberg rises 123m above the graz main square and forms the core of the historic old town. as early as around 1125, a romanesque castle was built on the then bare rock, which is recorded in the guinness book of records as the strongest fortress of all time. besides this, many other historic buildings and romantic squares can be found on the schlossberg. the mountain in the middle of the city is a popular walking and excursion destination for the whole family, as well as a 'must see' for every tourist.
